On March 21, 2024 the USD 250 Board of Education approved Christina McCleary as the new Principal at George Nettels Elementary School.

“We are excited to have Christina join the Dragon Family. Christina comes to us with experience as an elementary principal and elementary school teacher,” USD 250 Asst. Superintendent Ann Lee said. “Her passion for learning, maintaining a collaborative culture, and desire to support students, staff and families as they grow will aid in Christina’s transition next year.”

McCleary is currently the Elementary Principal in Sedan, Kansas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Unified, a Master of Science in Educational Administration and is also licensed in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

“I look forward to supporting and building upon all the wonderful things happening in Pittsburg schools,” McCleary said. “Every student feeling valued and loved so that they can bring their best to school every day is my highest priority.”

McCleary will assume her new duties effective July 2024.
